2011 Colony Report

What a busy year it has been!

2011 saw the resurrection of the County Beaveree, where Colonies from all over Buckinghamshire enjoyed a "Mardis Gras" themed day at the ChalfontHeights Campsite.

We also had our first ever night away for Wing Beavers at the Group Camp in July - all the Beavers seemed to have an amazing time, and I heard many reports of them falling asleep on the way home in the car!

As always we have tried to give Beavers the opportunities to gain badges during the year. Beavers that are with us for the whole 2 years should have the opportunity to gain their 6 "Challenge" badges which then entitles them to wear the Chief Scouts Bronze Award on their Cub Uniform while they work towards the Silver Award.

This year two of our ex-beavers (who are now Cubs) were invited to a ceremony in Aylesbury to be awarded their Bronze Awards in front of other scouters and some very proud parents.

The regular activities of the County Hike, County Orienteering, District Handicrafts, Sports Day and Christmas Party were all well supported.
